Who are we? We are an evangelical reformed church within the United Reformed Church denomination. Where are we? The village of Linton is situated some 9 miles south of Cambridge on the Cambridge to Haverhill road. Our church is situated in Horn lane, first right off of the High street. How long? There has been a reformed witness in Linton for over 300 years. Stories tell of groups of non-conformist Christians meeting in the woods surrounding Linton for fear of persecution. The original meeting house on the present site was not much more than a barn and was first used in 1698. In 1998, therefore, our church celebrated its 300th anniversary. It now seems appropriate that we mark the new millennium, 2,000 years since the birth of Jesus Christ, with our own website! |
